Once again, SCALP, is delighted to be co-hosting the Angus Autumn Charity Ball in Forfar on Saturday 30 October 2010. Last year the ball raised over £10k . Tables of 10 are £500.00 - this includes champagne reception & canapes, 3 course dinner and 4 bottles of wine on each table.

Nexen Petroleum UK have been very generous and donated £1000 to SCALP in November 2009.
Glasgow Odontological Society donated £335 in April 2009.
Fancy Dress Disco
Supermum Gillian McMahon along with family and friends organised a fancy dress disco in Montrose to raise funds for SCALP at the end of August 2009. Everyone had a great time and over £900 was raised on the night. They hope to arrange another disco for 2010 and we wish them well with their fundraising efforts, which are greatly appreciated.
West Highland Way Sponsored Walk
SCALP was delighted to receive a cheque for over £500 from Mr Michael O'Neil and his wife, who had both walked the West Highland Way. Michael had previously been a beneficiary of SCALP for a project and was pleased to be able to help SCALP in this way. Below is a photo taken at the end of the day (it's great they still manage to look cheerful despite having sore feet!!). Well done!

Trudie Imrie, SCALP Administrator, was delighted to attend a cheque presentation recently at Dundee Dental Hospital. Gillian McMahon, mum of Rachel who was born with a cleft, completed a sponsored walk along with Alison Rosie, Hayley McMahon, Margaret Forbes, Louise McIntosh, and Letttie Bridgewater. They walked around Montrose Basin on Saturday 5th July, which is approximately 10 miles within 3 hours. Gillian reported that they were very lucky to have good weather on the day and raised a grand total of £543.81. Many thanks to everyone who sponsored Gillian and her friends.

“We hope that families who are affected by cleft lip or palate take some comfort from the fact scientists are making important inroads into understanding this common condition. But if the funding isn't available, breakthroughs like this won't happen”.
